Line infantry

  The championed of the infantry of British line wore an adorned black shako of plume, cord and it plates metal, a scarlet jacket with white bandoleer, grey trousers borne over short black boots. 

The colour of the collar and of the cuffs of the jacket ( or tunic ) varied from regiment to regiment.  in the officials and in the non-commissioned officers the uniform was adorned by a gilded ruff on the breast, from a band grasp scarlet knoted about the life and from some fixed braids to the collar and to the cuffs of the jacket.

Every regiment was generally constituted from three battalions, the base unit of the British infantry, partite in ten company ( one of grenadiers, the other of riflemen ).  

The adopted arm was the Brown Bess gauges 19, 3 millimetre, a rifle in degree of shootting bullets three time more big than those frenches. the line-up foresees two rifleman file places in the face of the enemy: the first line was in knees, the second class in feet, and they shot alternating.

UNIFORM

All the regiment of the infantry of line British bore the same coat uniform red with collar and cuffs of the colour of the regiment, grey trousers, short black boots.

In the subordinate officials the buttons were gilt and not white, a band grasp runs about the flanks, braids and other finish gilds embellished the uniform. For the superior officials were foreseen a black feathered two-cornered hat in place of the shako and black trousers with boots from climbs instead of the trousers communes grey.

 At the beginning of the XIX century the traditional hat was replaced by an inspiration of black shako Austrian denominated stovepipe . to his time this was replaced in the 1809 from the so called Wellington shako , of black felt, which she/he/it is fixed a short feather colour variable;white in the grenadiers, green in the light infantry, red and white in the Unit.
