FRANCE 1810 HORSE ARTILLERY The Horse Artillery was added to the Garde Imperial on 29 July 1804, when an extra troop was added to the one that had been in the Consular Guard. Imported January 3 , 1800, following the reorganization of this volute body from Napoleon after the coup d'état of the 18 Brumaire 1799. Each troop was 98 men strong. In April 1806, a regiment of three squadrons, each of two troops, was formed. Each squadron consisted of 100 old soldiers and 20 Vélites. On the introduction of the Foot Artillery into the Garde Impériale, the Horse Regiment was reduced to four troops. The artillery of the Garde Impériale consisted of 198 pieces, formed into 26 batteries. All the members of the horse artillery were excellent riders, trained to get off, go up and change of position to the pieces to big speed. In compensation have reputation of big quarrelsome person, that it doesn't hesitate to duel with the championed of the other unit for the bent minimum.
Till the 1812, the French horse artillery has the same uniform of the hussar, with blue jacket and trousers, black busby with red plume, boots from climbs to the Hungarian. In 1812 the dolman was replaced by a sky-blue jacket with two file sun button and without red frog, while the busby was replaced by a black shako with adorned visor on the before from the imperial and devoid eagle of plume.
