Polish lancer of the guard

The polonaise lancers were integrated in the imperial guard in the March of the 1807 and to head of the theirs regiment was placed Vincent Corvin Krasinski, a successful Polish official to greater colonel. The theirs first mission was in Spagna, where they fought against the rebel of Madrid ( 2 May 1808 ) and they took part in the battle durra of Somosierra ( 30 November 1808 ). Krasinski, that she/he/it had been hurt to Madrid, it was famous official of the Legion with honour. the following year the polonaise lancers of the guard contributed to the success of Wagram against the austrians, defeating the uhlans of Schwarzenberg; Krasinski were again wounded. after this battles, Napoleon clear of making of the lancers the pin of its light cavalry and to the regiment of Krasinski were given the lancer name polonaises of the light cavalry and to the regiment of Krasinski were given the lancer name polonaises of the light cavalry of the imperial guard.

In the June of the 1811 Krasinski were famous commander of the Legion with honour and his unit receives the standard that rebaptized it 1° regiment of the lancers of the light cavalry of the imperial guard. the following year the unit shared  to the battle of Moscow.

UNIFORM

The polonaise lancers of the guard wore always the typical uniform of the theirs country: black czapka with visor, been conclusive in the superior part from a quadrangular stratum, short blue jacket with  collar and red cuff, blue upright trousers, short boots of leathers. The visor and the lower part of the czapka was, as already called, black; on the front it issued a brass plate to the centre of which was special the "N" of Napoleon and a gilded crown on silver bottom; the quadrangular stratum was made of red tissue. Plume was white ( white and red in the ), trumpet fixed to the hat by a tricolour cockade over which it is applied a cross of Malta silvery.

The plume and the cords are exhibited only during the protect. in the marches the red stratum was covered with a black oilcloth. The uniform of the officials was nearly even to that of the troop: while however in the first the epaulet, the cords and all to it decorations were silvered, in the troop they were white.

How to arming the championed of this it has regiment of a curve sabre, of a pistol and of a rifle, further clearly that of a lance with the adorned peak from a two-coloured, red and white weathercock.
